Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection contains biographical information and personal papers. Biographical information includes a personal data sheet, ministry lists, next of kin listings, jubilee and funeral materials, obituaries, photographs, prayer cards, and more.

Personal papers document Sister's initial formation in religion, as well as her many years of service as an educator. They include personal and professional correspondence, teaching contracts and letters of recommendation, vow preparation materials, and various documents from Sister's novitiate program. News clippings, awards, certificates, and letters of condolence and commemoration represent Sister's profound legacy in both the Benedictine Community and the local community. Finally, artefacts, such as her Saint Scholastica High School patch and her children's prayer book, and writings, such as a her reflections on religious life and her work with the PACE Institute at the Cook County Jail, provide a more personal glimpse into Sister's life, history, and outlook as a woman religious.
