Jubilee booklets, 1903-1953

 Series — Box: OSBCHI-B-5, Folder: 17

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This series contains data sheets created by the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago. There is a German-English language parish history which includes pictures of church, cardinal, and pastors. The parish history from 1871 through 1903 covers the school and church. The bulk of the parish history booklet, issued to raise funds for the construction of the new church, is made up of contemporary ads from local sponsors. Booklets from the parish diamond jubilee (1946) and the fiftieth anniversary of the new church building (1953) provide additional essays on parish history, leadership, and activities.

There are photographs of the original and new Fourteen Holy Martyrs, parish staff, and Saint Lioba Convent. There are two post cards of Saint Benedict Church and School. Included are images #107, #108, #110, and #113 from Sister Ignatia O'Connor, OSB centennial exhibit of 1961.
