Mother Luitgardis Huber, OSB biographical information, 1870-1888
Scope and Contents
This collection begins with a photocopy of Mother Luitgardis’ triennial vows in German 1870. It contains other personal data, some correspondence regarding the move towards collaborative work between North American Benedictine women on developing a constitution. That work is also studied in an article by Sr. Regina Baska, OSB from Benedictines journal. The files contain her obituary, biographical articles from the Saint Scholastica priory Newsletter, and other publications. The Festschrift from the centennial of St. Mary’s Church in Breckenridge, Colorado outlines the scouting and foundational work Mother Luitgardis did in the area and the eventual transfer of the Community to Canon City, Colorado where it flourished for over 100 years.
