Biographical / Historical
Sister Bernadette Buschman, OSB was born in Maryland on June 17, 1885. Her parents were from Germany. She entered the Benedictine Community in August, 1901. She professed final vows in 1907, celebrated her silver jubilee in 1932, and her golden jubilee on July 11, 1953. She entered the Benedictine Sisters at the age of 16 from Holy Martyrs Parish in Baltimore, Maryland. Sister Bernadette taught children in the primary grades both in Illinois and Colorado. She was ill for several years before she died on March 29, 1963 at the age of 77. She is buried in All Saints Cemetery.
