This collection includes a personal data sheet, a photograph, and an obituary. Also included in an edition of the publication Benedictines from Winter 1999, which includes an article by Sister Judith entitled, "The Prioress/Monastic Relationship: An Alternative Vision." There is limited information in the archives about Sister Judith and the paths she travelled.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Judith Elms, OSB was born Carolyn Marie in Little Rock, Arkansas. She entered the Benedictine Community at Saint Scholastica Monastery in Ft. Smith, Arkansas around 1949. Sister Judith served as an educator and in leadership in her community. She formed part of an offshoot group known by various names that lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, and Louisiana. They eventually became part of Benedictine Sisters of Chicago while remaining in Louisiana. Sister Judith died on September 28th, 2015, and is buried at Saint Joseph Abbey in Saint Benedict, Louisiana.
