Biographical / Historical

Sister Dorothy Van Alstyne, OSB was born and grew up in Canon City, Colorado where she attended St. Michael School and St. Scholastica Academy. She entered the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago in September 1941. She was an educator and a bookkeeper, assisting in the Business and Development Offices at both high schools in Colorado and Chicago. Sr. Dorothy also served as Office Manager for the Howard Area Community Center in Chicago.
