This collection includes both personal papers and biographical information. The box of personal papers includes Jubilee papers, correspondence, educational records, familial information, an address book, and several handcrafted items.

Sisters' papers are restricted for 50 years after the Sister's death, until July 15th, 2041. Photographs, previously published, and widely distributed materials are unrestricted.
Biographical / Historical
Sister Innocence Distel, OSB was born Mary Mabel Distel on July 6th, 1908 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her family immigrated to the United States when she was four years old, settling in a farming town in southeastern Colorado. She entered the community on July 18th, 1927, making her first professon on January 12th, 1929. Her final profession was made on August 16th, 1932. Sister taught in numerous parochial schools, serving as principal and superior at several. During the summers, she travelled throughout Colorado teaching at religious vacation schools. Sister Innocence died in Chicago on July 15th, 1991 at the age of 83 and is buired in the All Saints Cemetery.
