This collection contains obituaries, photocopied vows, an act of renunciation, a personal data sheet, prayer cards, biographical notes, research request correspondence, and photographs. This collection also includes the sheet music for the song, "Out Where the West Begins," gifted to Sister Pauline by her choir students.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Pauline Dotterweich, OSB was born Elisabeth Dotterweich on June 2nd, 1860 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She joined the community on September 20th, 1884, pronouncing the three Benedictine vows in Latin upon her triennial vows in 1885. She gave her perpetual vows in 1888 in Saint Gertrude Convent in Breckenridge, Colorado. Her first assignments were to teach needlework, music, and choir at Saint Gertrude Academy, the Academy of Saint Scholastica in Canon City, and Saint Mary School in Aspen, Colorado. She was later reassigned to the Academy in Canon City, where she remained until her death on April 16th, 1945 at 85 years old. Sister Pauline is buried in Lakeside Cemetery south of Canon City.
