Biographical / Historical

Sister Gabriella Draper, OSB was born Cora Edith Draper in Colorado Springs on February 18th, 1881. Education was very important to her family, and when she entered the community on December 6th, 1906 she gifted her extensive personal library of literary and historical works to the Cannon City Academy's library. She made her perpetual vows in 1911, and at the Canon City Academy taught Latin, French, German, and English. Sister Gabriella died of tuberculosis on February 3rd, 1917 at the age of 36. She is buried in Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City.
