Biographical / Historical
Sister Winifred Dusek, OSB was born Marie Dusek in Milevsko, Bohemia, on April 2nd, 1870. She joined the community with her older sister (Sister Martha Dusek), making her perpetual vows in 1894. She taught at St. John Nepomucene School, Chicago, St. Mary School, Pueblo, and Mother of God School, Waukegan. She had a gift for teaching penmanship. She died on December 16th, 1923 at the age of 53 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery.
