Biographical / Historical
Sister Noreen Ferrari, OSB was born Noreen Ann Ferrari on June 29th, 1950 in Durango, Colorado. Before joining the community on August 19th, 1982, she taught physical education. She also gained experience as a sports coach in several Colorado schools and camps, such as Centauri Junior High, Fort Lewis College, Camp San Benito in Canon City, and Sacred Heart Elementary School. During her postulancy, Sister taught at Saint Joseph school in Chicago, the original motherhouse of the Chicago Benedictines. At Saint Scholastica High School in Chicago, she taught physical education, coached the varsity basketball team, and served as campus minister. In 1989, Sister was selected as the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Class AA "Coach of the Year." She left the community on March 3rd, 1990.
