Sister Denise Fitzgerald, OSB papers

Sister Denise Fitzgerald, OSB was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 3rd, 1946. She entered the community on May 5th, 1966 and made her final profession on August 8th, 1976.

Sister Denise graduated from St. Scholastica High School, Chicago before earning her BA from Mundelein College in 1971, and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Loyola University in 1974. She taught second grade at St. Lambert's School, and served as a social worker at Queen of All Saints, St. Juliana, and St. Symphorosa schools. Her service also included psychiatric social work at the Chicago Alcoholic Treatment Center in Chicago, Illinois beginning in the summer of 1978, serving on the administrative team at St. Scholastica, board membership at the St. Scholastica Academy in Canon City, Colorado, and directing the guidance department at DeSalle High School. In community, she served as sub-prioress to Sister Mary Benet McKinney from 1990 to 1992.

She left the community on December 26th, 1999.
