Biographical / Historical
Sister Donata Gantzer, OSB was born Maria on November 2nd, 1872 in Lower Alsace, Germany. She entered the community on April 7th, 1909, making her novitiate in Canon City, Colorado. She died as a novice at the age of 38 on March 3rd, 1910, making her first vows on her deathbed. Her cause of death is listed as "galloping consumption" an aggresive and acute form of tuberculosis. She is buried in the Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City, Colorado.
