Biographical / Historical
Sister Camilla Hanley, OSB was born Margaret on July 9th, 1872 in Caseyville, Illinois. She entered the community on September 7th, 1891, making her first profession on May 11th, 1892. She died less than 2 weeks later, on May 24th, 1892 in Canon City, Colorado, likely of tuberculosis. Sister is buried in an unknown cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Her body was tranposrted to Denver due to the prevalence of anti-Catholic violence in Canon City by the American Protective Association at the time of her passing.
