Sisters' papers are restricted for 50 years after the Sister's death. Photographs, previously published, and widely distributed materials are unrestricted.

Biographical / Historical

Sister Patricia Hartmann, OSB (also known as Sister Frederick) was born Patricia Laverne on March 10th, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. She entered the community on September 7th, 1953, making her final profession on August 16th, 1958.

Sister graduated from Saint Scholastica High School Chicago before attending Saint Procopius College in Lisle, Illinois and DePaul University in Chicago. She then earned a Bachelor of Philosphy in Education and Philosophy. Sister taught in various schools in Illinois, including Saint George, Queen of All Saints, and Saint Lambert in Skokie. She also taught grade 6 at Saint Mary School in Pueblo, Colorado.

Sister left the community on September 21st, 1968.
