This collection consists of biographical information and limited personal papers. Included in biographical information is a personal data sheet, nearest of kin information, teaching certifications, ministry lists, jubilee materials, photographs, and other biographical data.
Personal papers include photocopied news articles, academic transcripts, teaching contracts, and materials related to Sister's employment, ministries, and life in community.

Sisters' papers are restricted for 50 years after the Sister's death. Photographs, previously published, and widely distributed materials are unrestricted.
Biographical / Historical
Sister Marilyn Hattrup, OSB (also known as Sister Jane) was born on December 12th, 1940 in Windhurst, Kansas. She entered the community on September 14th, 1960, making her final vows on August 16th, 1967.
Sister graduated from Saint Scholastica Academy in Canon City before earning her Bachelor of Art degree from Mundelein College. Sister later earned a Master of Art degree from Northeastern Illinois University, an MPS from Loyola University, and an administrative certificate from DePaul University. She served as teacher at Saint Jospeh in Salida and Saint Michael in Delta, Colorado, as well as in religious vacation schools. In Illinois, she taught at Queen of All Saints, Saint Hilary, and Saint Lambert schools.
In community, Sister served as the Executive Secretary to the Prioress and assisted in the infirmary. She also participated in various committees, such as the garden level committee, the development committee, and more. She served as a computer trainer and IT person for the community.
