This collection consists of limited personal papers and biographical information. It includes a personal data sheet, a photocopied baptismal certificate, a photocopied certificate of naturalization, ministry lists, funeral materials, prayer cards, community obituaries, photographs, jubilee materials, and teaching contracts and evaluations.

Conditions Governing Access
Sisters' papers are restricted for 50 years after the Sister's death. Photographs, previously published, and widely distributed materials are unrestricted.
Biographical / Historical
Sister Maureen Holleran, OSB was born Mary on August 1st, 1903 in County Mayo, Ireland. One of ten children, she immigrated with her sibilings and family members to the United States, settling in Chicago. Sister joined the community along with her friend Sister Mary Bride Coyne, OSB (Bridget) on February 27th, 1929. She made her first vows on August 28th, 1930, and her perpetual profession on August 28th, 1933. She became an American citizen in 1936.
Sister taught at various schools in Colorado and Illinois. She taught primary grades at St. Symphorosa, St. George, St. Scholastica, and Queen of All Saints in Chicago, and at St. Scholastica, St. Joseph, and St. Leander in Colorado. Sister also served as guest mistress, and took care of the sacristy and school wardrobe at Canon City.
In community, she served by cooking, baking altar breads, and as a sacristan.
Sister Maureen died at St. Joseph Court on September 10th, 1994 at the age of 91, and is buried in All Saints Cemetery, Illinois.
