This collection includes a personal data sheet, community obituaries, and a letter sent from the Dominician Sisters of the Perpetual Rosary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, thanking community archivist Sister Vivian for sending them a copy of Sister Pancratia's obituary.

Biographical / Historical

Sister Pancratia Katowski, OSB was born Anna in Kamin, Prussia (now Poland) on December 3rd, 1872. She was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish, Chicago, when she entered the community on May 3rd, 1891. Sister made her first vows on November 21st, 1892, and her final profession on June 19th, 1918.

Sister served as a cook at Saint Scholastica Academy in Canon City, Colorado around the year 1900. Very little is known about Sister's life in religion beyond this.

Sister died on June 19th, 1918 at the age of 45 from the Spanish flu. She is buried in Saint Boniface Cemetery, Chicago.
