Biographical / Historical
Sister Edmunda Kornberger, OSB was born Marie on February 10th, 1883 in Bavaria, Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1909, joining the community on October 21st of that same year. Sister was invested on January 6th, 1910, making her first vows a year later on January 6th, 1911. On January 6th, 1914, Sister made her perpetual profession.
Sister served the community through essential domestic tasks and household chores at various convents, including Saint George, Saint John Nepomucene, Saint Mary in Pueblo, Colorado, and Saint Joseph in Chicago.
Sister died on March 30th, 1928 at the age of 45 from "inflammatory rheumatism." She is buried in Calvary, Cemetery.
