This collection contains biographical information and personal papers. Biographical information includes basic data such as ministry lists, a personal data sheet, next of kin contact information, jubilee and profession worship aids and materials, holy cards, diplomas, vow sheets, photographs, and more.

Personal papers represent the different aspects of Sister Patricia's life in community. News articles, religious life narratives, and chapter presentations document the personal and community processes involved in Sister's entrance into the community. News articles, employment, and a federation worship aid provide insight into Sister's various ministries, both internal and external to the community. Finally, correspondence highlights Sister's relationships, personal and professional (although primarily with her fellow Sisters), while Japanese floral design shows Sister's passion for expressing her faith in unique and creative ways.

Biographical / Historical

Sister Patricia Cielinski, OSB was born Patricia Ellen on May 1st, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. She entered the community on October 3rd, 1981, making her first profession on August 20th, 1983. She made her final vows on April 9th, 1989.

Before joining the community, Sister earned a BS in Business from DePaul University, and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Loyola University. After joining the community, Sister Patricia served as a dorm prefect, teacher, and recruiter at Saint Scholastica Academy in Canon City, Colorado. She also served as an administrative assistant to the President of Felician Health Services, and a clerk for the Howard Area Community Center.

In community, Sister Patricia has performed a variety of administrative roles, such as catering coordinator, liturgical environmentalist, delegate to the Saint Scholastica Federation Chapter, coordinator of resources, and assistant to the subprioress. She has also served on many community committees, including the Garden Level Committee and the On-Going Formation Committee. She is skilled in the Japanese flower arranging art known as ikebana, and her creations often adorn the Saint Scholastica Monastery.
