This collection includes the personal data sheet, next of kin list, obituaries and photographs for Sister Angela Coyne, OSB. There is a collection of manuals she used for her clothing classes at St. Scholastica High Schools and her own needlework. Sister Angela created 4 Benedictine nun dolls dressed as a postulant, a bride, a novice, and professed sister.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Angela Coyne, OSB was born in Galway, Ireland on March 29, 1895. She entered the Benedictine Sisters on January 6, 1924. The date of her first profession was in August, 1925 and final profession August, 1928. Sister Angela was a prefect for several years at the Academy in Canon City, Colorado. When transferred to Chicago, she served as the teacher in the clothing department of St. Scholastica High School. She arranged fashion shows displaying the work of her students in the clothing classes. Much of her time was also spent pricing and collecting handmade items for the Fall Festival sponsored by St. Scholastica High School. Sister Angela crafted four nun dolls from a postulancy to finally professed. While visiting family in Ireland, she suffered a heart attack and died on June 26, 1969 at the age of 74. She is buried in the cemetery of the Sisters of Mercy in Galway, Ireland.
