Scope and Contents
This collection includes a personal data sheet, family member prayer cards, ministry assignments. Also included are obituaries, prayer cards, funeral liturgy, and several photographs. Several letters and correspondence to and from Sister Eleanore Hillenbrand, OSB were also included.

Sister's papers are restricted for 50 years after her death. Photographs, previouly published and widely distributed materials are unrestricted.
Biographical / Historical
Sister Celine Beck, OSB was born in Canon City, Colorado in 1924. She attended St. Scholastica Academy as a boarding student. After graduation she worked in the business world for two years and then entered the Benedictine Sisters in September, 1945. She was finally professed in July, 1950. She celebrated her golden jubilee in July, 2007. Sister Celine served as a primary school teacher for over 20 years within the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Diocese of Pueblo. She retired from teaching in 1968. Even though she retired from the classroom, she served in various support staff positions and as archivist at the Academy in Canon City. Sister finally retired in January 2004 and returned to live at the Monastery in Chicago. She died peacefully on October 27, 2007. She is buried in Canon City, Colorado.
