Biographical / Historical
SisterApollonia Bobrowitz, OSB was born in West Prussia in 1874. Even though her family was of Polish descent, they were forced to speak German. Gertrude (Sister Apollonia) entered the Benedictine Community in August, 1895. Her final profession was in July, 1900. She celebrated her silver jubilee in August,1925, her golden jubilee in 1947, her diamond jubilee in 1957. Sister Apollonia Bobrowitz, OSB spent her years in religious life as a cook... at SS Benedict/Scholastica Convent on Orleans Street, St. Scholastica Priory, and at the Academy of St. Scholastica in Canon City, Colorado. Sister Apollonia died on June 22, 1966 at the Priory infirmary. She was buried in All Saints Cemetery.
