Biographical / Historical
Sister Bernadette Brandt, OSB was born in 1870 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. She entered the Benedictine Community in July, 1887. She was missioned immediately to St. Gertrude's Convent and Academy in Breckenridge, Colorado as a teacher. She made her triennial vows in Chicago in March, 1889. Her perpetual vows were made in Canon City, Colorado in March, 1892. Due to ministry need, Sister Bernadette experienced extensive travel during her formation years. Sister Bernadette died at the young age of 24 in 1894 in Aspen, Colorado and her burial was in Denver at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
