Biographical / Historical
Sister Catherine Breutsch, OSB was born in Germany in 1855. She entered the Benedictine community in 1889. She professed Triennial vows in November 1891. She made final vows in 1895. She celebrated her silver jubilee in 1926. Sister Catherine spend her life doing household tasks and serving as the baker at the SS Benedict and Scholastica convent on Orleans Street. Sister Catherine died in May 1933 at the age of 78 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery. Sister Caatherine was joined by a younger sister (Sister Antonia) in 1891.
