Biographical / Historical
Sister Adelsinde Brummer, OSB (Marie Brummer) was born in Bavaria in 1872. She entered the Benedictine community in November 1889. She made Triennial vows in February 1892, Perpetual vows in 1896. She celebrated her silver jubilee in 1921 and her golden jubilee in 1942. Sister Adelsinde's Benedictine life was spend in assisting with many household chores. Her assignments included missions in Iowa, Maryland, Pueblo, Canon City, and Chicago. She... was well known for kindness to hungry strangers. She died on April 16, 1943 at the age of 70. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery.
