Scope and Contents
This collection includes a personal data sheet, college transcripts, obituaries, personal letters, numerous materials from Holy Family Church's restoration, information on the carving of the high altar, pulpit, statuary by Sister Amelia's father, three chosen piano pieces, personal notations regarding Sister Amelia. Included also are photographs and prayer cards.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Amelia Buscher, OSB was born in Chicago on September 20, 1863. She entered the Benedictine Community in September, 1888. She professed triennial vows in August, 1890 and professed final vows in August, 1893. She celebrated her silver jubilee in January, 1918, her golden jubilee in August, 1940, and her diamond jubilee in July, 1950. Sister Amelia taught piano and art. She served as the superior in Canon City, Colorado, later at St. Joseph School in Salida, Colorado. She was the novice mistress, was also charged with the aspirants in the early 1920's. Sister Amelia died July 30, 1950 at the age of 86 and is buried in St. Boniface Cemetery, next to her sister, Sister Mathilda Buscher, OSB. Sister Amelia's father was an excellent wood carver and sculptor. He has several wood carvings at Holy Family Church.
