This sub-series contains a long list of Sisters who taught vacation schools in Las Animas, Colorado, for over 30 years. Several documents relate to St. Mary Church, including a postcard of the exterior, a print of the interior, a pamphlet about the history of the parish, and a news article from the Southern Colorado Register that mentions the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago. A postcard from Leadville, Colorado, is also included, but the reason is unclear.

This sub-series includes the calendar, itinerary, postcards, and notes of an research trip that the archivist, Sister Vivian Ivantic, OSB made to Benedictine houses in the Eastern United States. Sister Eleanore Hillenbrand, OSB and Sister Mary Frances Schermerhorn accompanied her. They also visited Sister Karen Bland, OSB who was on the staff of Wheeling Jesuit College in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Scope and Contents

This series contains a list of Sisters who taught in Rockvale, Colorado, from the late 1920s until the the middle of the 1940s. Pages copied from "Our Community" appear alongside newsclippings and other texts regarding St. Patrick Church and the town at-large. Also included are photographs from a 1991 archives trip to Colorado and an archives newsletter relaying what happened during the trip and the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago's history in the state.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of biographical information and personal papers. Biographical information includes jubilee and funeral materials, diplomas, vow sheets, teaching certifications, nearest of kin, ministry lists, a personal data sheet, and more. Personal papers include significant correspondence with politicans, incarcerated men and women, family and friends, former students, and more. This sub-series contains a list of Sisters who taught in Telluride, Colorado, during several summers between 1931 and 1978. Three news stories about St. Patrick Church appear alongside a postcard, map of the area, and some images taken by Sr. Eleanore Hillenbrand, OSB, during an archives trip she and Sr. Vivian Ivantic, OSB, took to Colorado in 1989.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The materials in this collection were gathered over the years by Prioresses and archivists and held in the monastery and school libraries as reference materials. Mother Theresa Krug, OSB, whose brother was the abbot of the Abbey of Monte Cassino probably contributed the earliest material. Sister Ignatia O'Connor, OSB gathered some of it for a display at the 1961 centennial of the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago.
