This series contains a couple photographs of Sr. Constance Matern, OSB, and Sr. Anthony Hrusovsky, OSB, a priest, and their vacation school group outside St. Mary Church in Eagle, Colorado. Also included are some pictures taken during a 1989 archive trip Sr. Vivian Ivantic, OSB, and Sr. Eleanore Hillenbrand, OSB, took to Colorado. Florence, Colo., 1991

 Sub-Series — Box OSBCHI-C-100-1, Folder: 29
Scope and Contents

Despite the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago's 40-year presence in Florence, Colorado, this sub-series is relatively slim. Our Foreign-Born Members, 1920s

 Item — Box OSBCHI-A-900.1: Series OSBCHI-A-901, Folder: 4
Identifier: OSBCHI-901.1.4
Scope and Contents

This history discusses the Sisters who came from Germany following World War I. Many more Sisters were born outside of the United States, approximately one third of the total community membership. A favorite monastery anecdote recalls how while cleaning, Sister Lioba Deininger, OSB fell from a ladder, breaking an urn in her fall. The horrified house superior said: Sister Lioba, that urn is imported!" Dusting herself off, Sister Lioba responded, "So am I!"
