Scope and Contents
Each year, when Sophomore English students were reading and studying The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, in their American Literature class, English teacher Marlene Mitchell assigned them to interview someone who lived through the Great Depression of the 1930s. These are the oral histories that the students submitted in class.
