This slim sub-series contains nothing more than a sheet of paper listing Sisters who taught at vacation schools in Delta, Colorado, where the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago were stationed from 1950 until 1974. In addition to summer schools of religion, some Sisters also worked at St. Michael School.

Scope and Contents

This sub-series contains a long list of Sisters who taught vacation schools in Las Animas, Colorado, for over 30 years. Several documents relate to St. Mary Church, including a postcard of the exterior, a print of the interior, a pamphlet about the history of the parish, and a news article from the Southern Colorado Register that mentions the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago. A postcard from Leadville, Colorado, is also included, but the reason is unclear.

Scope and Contents

This sub-series contains a list of Sisters who taught vacation schools in Olathe, Colorado, and an image of a Sister standing alongside eight pupils. The back of the print lists the year as 1944, although there is no evidence the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago were present in the town until two decades later. There is a good chance this photograph was taken later than listed or was captured in a separate town.

Scope and Contents This sub-series starts with a paper listing Sisters who taught vacation schools in Ouray, Colorado, from 1957 to 1979. Several postcards from the town are included, along with a portrait of Sr. Elizabeth Kohl, OSB, and Sr. Georgine Hodnik, OSB, outside St. Daniel the Prophet Church, presumably taken in 1961 or 1962. This sub-series is relatively slim considering the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago spent over half the 20th century teaching vacation schools in Salida, Colorado. Beyond a list of Sisters who ran the town's summer schools of religion, the only material included is a page from "Our Community" that briefly mentions Salida and a map highlighting the town's location.
