Volume 4 numbers 1-12, 1982
Scope and Contents
The Saint Scholastica Priory Archives Newsletter is a Monastic publication begun by Sister Vivian Ivantic, OSB in 1978. The original intent of the newlsletter was to recount and highlight the community's history, as well as to spotlight some of the artefacts and artworks preserved in the Archives. Sister Vivian also intended for it to serve as an accessible overview and introduction to the history of the Benedictine community in Chicago, for historians, community members, and researchers alike. Many issues in later years also served as biographies of sisters upon their passing, or to inform the community of the work done to preserve and promote Benedictine history in the Archive. There are 36 total volumes of the newsletter, the final issue having been published in March of 2023.
