Alamosa, Colo., 1937 - 1991
This sub-series is primarily comprised of lists of Sisters who taught vacation schools in Alamosa, Colorado. The Benedictine Sisters of Chicago had a large presence in the town, especially earlier in the 20th century. A pamphlet about the history of the Sacred Heart Church, a copy of some pages from "Our Community," and an Archives Newsletter are also included.

The bulk of this collection from the Archives department consistes of Sister Vivian Ivantic, OSB correspondence and summaries or timelines of community history. There are also Sister Vivian Ivantic OSB notes on the early days of community, catalogs of the collections, seals, and the works of other researchers on the history of the community. The Archives Newslette is the largest series.

This series details the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago's brief presence in Chandler, Colorado. Four Sisters ran a vaction school in the small coal town during the summer of 1940, which served children in Chandler, along with Williamsburg, Colorado, and Coal Creek, Colorado. Also included is an Archives Newsletter written following a 1991 archive trip Sr. Vivian Ivantic, OSB, and Sr. Eleanore Hillenbrand, OSB, took to Colorado.

This sub-series contains archive notes created by Sr. Vivian Ivantic, OSB, listing when vacation schools were taught and which Sisters taught them for each town with a summer school of religion run by the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago.

This timeline begins at the 1861 foundation of the community in Chicago, Illinois and runs up to the election of Sister Philomene Linbeck, OSB in 1818. It is heavily annotated with corrections in pencil by Sister Vivian Ivantic, OSB.

All this sub-series contains is a short list of which Sisters led summer schools of religion in Craig, Colorado, along with which years they taught sessions between when they first entered the town in 1937 and when they finally left in 1973. Also included is a map highlighting where Craig is located in Colorado.

The list of Sisters who taught at the summer schools of religion in Eagle may be incomplete, as the second page of the list is missing.
