Artefacts, circa 1914-1970
Scope and Contents
This series includes two lace doilies, a German book entitled St. Walburga=Buchlein made by the Abbey of St. Walburga in Eichstatt, and family prayer cards. The two lace doilies were made by Sister Lioba, and are discussed in the correspondence between Sister Vivian Ivantic, OSB and Sister Irmengarde (Sister Lioba's niece) from 2001-2004. The book was published in 1966, and may have been given to Sister Lioba by her niece Sister Irmengarde, a Sister at the Saint Walburga convent in Eichstatt, Germany. Sister Vivian Ivantic, OSB visted Sister Irmengarde in Eichstatt in 1975.
