Scope and Contents
This series contains devotional objects used by Sister Benigna Bacherle, OSB during her life as a Benedictine Sister. It includes a watercolor painting of the Madonna and Child in an Alpine household setting; this painting was the work of Karl Schmid, a monastery employee and co-worker of Sister Benigna, who also carved a wooden frame for a photograph of Pope John Paul II as gifts for her. There are holy cards, booklets of prayers and lives of saints, as well as a prayer that hung in Sister's cubby office in the basement.
