 Series — Folder: OSBCHI-D-SAWYJOHN-0

Scope and Contents

This series begins with three photographs of Sr. Johnetter Sawyer from her entrance as postulant in the Benedictine Sisters of CHicago; she is accompanied by her stepmother Mildred, her sister Marilyn, and her brother John, as well as Prioress Mother Laura Walker. It contains her obituary and the worship aid from her jubilee celebration. Other personal data is recorded here, including lists of ministry assignments, obediences, next of kin, as well as teacher certification and certificates from ongoing education programs she attended. There are photographs dating throughout her life in community, including an oversize photo of the 1st parish council at St. Leander Parish, Pueblo, Colorado. St Leander was Sr. Johnette’s grammar school where she and her sister received instruction in the Catholic faith.
