Scope and Contents
This collection consists of biographical information and personal papers. Biographical information includes funeral materials and news clippings, a personal data sheet, community obituaries, photographs, ministry lists, an Illinois teaching certificate, and more.
Personal papers include educational transcripts, correspondence- archival research and condolences upon her death, and a short history of St. Anthony Parish in Pueblo, Colorado that Sister Stephanie wrote.

Biographical / Historical
Sister Stephanie Hrusovsky, OSB was born Anna on December 18th, 1891 in Canon City, Colorado to Czechoslovakian parents. She is the older natural sister of Sr. Scholastica and Sr. Anthony. She and her siblings were educated in a log cabin on the family's farm. Sister was first introduced to Benedictine Sisters during her confirmation ceremony in Pueblo, Colorado. She joined the community 6 months later, at the age of sixteen, on July 8th, 1908. She made her first vows on January 6th, 1910, and her final profession on July 11th, 1913.
Sister graduated from De Paul University with a Bachelor's in Education in 1938. She served primarily as a teacher in various parochial schools, generally teaching at the 7th and 8th grade levels. In Colorado, she taught at St. Mary, St. Anthony, St. Joseph, St. Leander, and in religious vacation schools. In Illinois, she taught at St. Joseph, St. George, St. Anthony, Mother of God, Queen of All Saints, St. Scholastica High School, and many more. Later, she also assisted the elderly at St. Thomas More hospital in Canon City, along with her natural sister, Sister Anthony. She also enjoyed taking art lessons.
Sister died on October 16th, 1976 at the age of 84, and is buried in All Saints Cemetery in Desplaines, Illinois.
