Biographical / Historical
Anna Braunroth (Sister Clementine Braun, OSB) was born on November 2, 1854. She entered the Benedictine Community of St. Walburga in New Jersey where she also made her triennial vows in 1877 and perpetual vows in 1881. She officially entered the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago in June, 1904. Sister Clementine served as the superior/director of the newly opened St. George Parish School in Chicago; she was the superior at St. Theresa Convent in Pueblo Colorado; she also served in Waukegan at Mother of God School. She died at the age of 72 in 1927 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, Illinois.
