Scope and Contents

Sister Cecilia worked very closely with Rev. Martin Carrabine, SJ as his self-propcalimed "ghostwriter" in the creation and running of CISCA. This series containes much of the correspondence between Sister Cecilia and Rev. Carrabine during the CISCA years.

Scope and Contents

In collaboration with the brothers of Benet Lake, Sister Cecilia wrote a series of phamphlets called the "Why" pamphlets marketed towards teenagers in which she disectected questions surrounding the Catholic faith. This series contains correspondence between Sister Cecilia and the monks of Benet Lake during the creation of the "Why" pamphlets.

In collaboration with Rev. Virgil Michel and Rev. Martin Carrabine, Sister Cecilia created Chicago Inter-Student Catholic Action (CISCA). CISCA worked to empower Catholic students across the city to use their faith as a means of social justice. This collection contains the materials and papers regarding the creation, operation, and aftermath of CISCA.
