Biography
The Sisters were missioned to Nauvoo from St. Scholastica Monastery in Chicago. They immediately founded St. Scholastica Academy there in 1874. This foundation became an independent house in 1879.

From the Collection:
The materials in this collection were gathered over the years by Prioresses and archivists and held in the monastery and school libraries as reference materials. Mother Theresa Krug, OSB, whose brother was the abbot of the Abbey of Monte Cassino probably contributed the earliest material. Sister Ignatia O'Connor, OSB gathered some of it for a display at the 1961 centennial of the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago.
