Scope and Contents

This sub-series is comprised of a list of Sisters who taught vacation schools in Belleplaine, Colorado, along with a news clipping about St. Anne Church, and several photographs of the parish over the years, including one of Sr. Mary Bede Beck, OSB, standing outside the church with her pupils.

Scope and Contents

This series contains a couple photographs of Sr. Constance Matern, OSB, and Sr. Anthony Hrusovsky, OSB, a priest, and their vacation school group outside St. Mary Church in Eagle, Colorado. Also included are some pictures taken during a 1989 archive trip Sr. Vivian Ivantic, OSB, and Sr. Eleanore Hillenbrand, OSB, took to Colorado. The list of Sisters who taught at the summer schools of religion in Eagle may be incomplete, as the second page of the list is missing.

Scope and Contents

This sub-series contains a long list of Sisters who taught vacation schools in Las Animas, Colorado, for over 30 years. Several documents relate to St. Mary Church, including a postcard of the exterior, a print of the interior, a pamphlet about the history of the parish, and a news article from the Southern Colorado Register that mentions the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago. A postcard from Leadville, Colorado, is also included, but the reason is unclear.

Scope and Contents Includes the first formal request for oblate investiture from Mary Ann Vitale on October 25, 1977. There is also confirmation that Dorothy Delacoma Andries was invested as an oblate when she was a student at Saint Scholastica Academy in Chicago, Illinois on December 3, 1953. Before women's monasteries could receive oblates, some students became oblates of St. Benedict Abbey in Atchison, Kansas. Scope and Contents From the Collection:

This collection contains promotional material and guidelines for Benedictine oblate programs, the membership lists and directories of St. Scholastica Monastery oblates, as well as some correspondence of oblate directors, and liturgical worship aids. One worship aid is related to efforts to canonize Benedictine oblate Dorothy Day. This collection will continue to grow as new content is created and donated.
