Alta Vista, Colo.
This thin sub-series contains an archive note describing which Sisters taught vacation schools in Alta Vista, Colorado, from 1940 to an unknown point in the 1950s. A passage from "Our Community" is included as a supplement beneath the section for 1942. It explains where Sr. Walburg Mater, OSB, and Sr. Gabrielle Pierik, OSB, taught in the town.
Crested Butte, Colo., 1937 - 1992
Louisville, Colo., 1989
This sub-series is relatively thick when compared to how little is known about the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago's time in Louisville, Colorado. A paper lists four Sisters who taught two vacation schools, but the years of each are unknown. Also included is a multi-page document about Catholicism in the region, which mentions Louisville, and the catalog for a set of negatives shot during a 1989 archives trip to Colorado.
Minturn, Colo., 1952 - 2007
This sub-series contains many photos and several news clippings relating to vacation schools the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago taught in Minturn, Colorado, from the late 1930s to late 1970s. Most material was produced during the 1950s.
Rockdale, Ill., 1929 - 1932
This sub-series contains several pages of an early community newsletter called the "Catechists' Corner" describing Cathesism and First Communion classes taught in Rockdale, Illinois.
Rocky Ford, Colo., 1937 - 1942
This sub-series contains an archives note listing the Sisters who taught vacation schools in Rocky Ford, Colorado, along with a couple news clippings of events relating to the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago's presence in the town. Also included is a photograph of several pupils from one summer, although the year is unknown, and it appears they do not comprise the whole class, as there are more children cut off on the right left side of the frame.
