Materials include school directores and a 25 year progress report distrubuted by the Archdiocese of Chicago. The directories are from 1969-1970, 1977-1978, and 1982-1983. The 25 year report is dated 1950. Additionally, this collections includes a survey report of schools operated by Catholic orders in Illinois. Records used to conduct the survey are from 1834-1939.

Scope and Contents

Two slightly different versions of the agenda for the Annual Meeting of the Second Grade Association of the Archdiocese of Chicago meeting on October 12, 1957, Sister Benita Coffey, OSB was president of the association. Possibly one is the agenda and one is minutes of the morning of the meeting. They demonstrated the use of a lesson from Jesus the Redeemer book of the Jesu-Maria Course in Religion.

Scope and Contents

Early materials in this collection are two family photographs from about 1946 and a 1960 photograph from her dorm room at Mount Saint Scholastica College in Atchison, Kansas, featuring a JFK campaign poster. The collection includes biographical information as well as material related to her vocation as an educator and her entusiasm for literacy. Sister Barbara saved some of her correpondence with community members, friends, and public figures.
