Rush to Colorado poem, 1959
Scope and Contents
This anonymous, handwritten poem was found with the Summer Vacation Schools materials. It extoles the beuaty and excitement of Colorado and encourages people to come experience it for themselves. It was written in 1959, the centennial of Colorado statehood. Many Sisters enjoyed traveling to Colorado by train and in the days before vacations, going out to teach summer school gave Sisters a change of scene and the chance to beautiful experience new places with welcoming families. Often the parish priest would take them site seeing when the term was over.
