Scope and Contents This series consists of two photocopies of news articles concerning or featuring Sister Celestine and her artworks. In an article published by the Chicago Daily News on September 5th, 1942 entitled, "Artist-Nun Reviews 50 Years of Work," Sister discusses her artistic processes, her artistic legacy, and the varying mediums with which she works. Scope and Contents This series includes photocopied, typed and hand written correspondence written by, to, and about Sister Celestine. Also includes research inquiries after her death. One highlight is a handwritten letter addressed to Sister Mary Jude with unique calligraphy made by Sister Celestine in 1942. Topics discussed involve the reception of her artwork, commissions, the development of her artistic projects, and her legacy. Scope and Contents

This series contains photographs of Sister Celestine's artworks and designs; including her manuscript art, paintings, Saint Scholastica Monestary Chicago chapel stained glass windows, pottery, textile work, altar canvas painting, and porcelain Stations of the Cross. Some of these photgraphs constitute the only remaining depictions of sister's lost artworks. For example, her painting of Esther has been missing for decades.
