Biographical / Historical

Archivist Sister Vivian Ivantic, OSB, Photographer Sister Eleanore Hillenbrand, OSB, and driver Sister Jeanne Hegarty, OSB stayed several days in Pueblo at St. Mary Help of Christians Parish, a long time home and mission for the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago. This parish was also a source of many vocations to the community. At the time of their visit, St. Benedict Park, a garden spot with commemorative bricks had begun to be built and the grammar school had been converted to a center for religious education for all ages.

As in many of the albums, there is additional material related to the history of the area that was gathered before and after the Sisters' research trip.
